Sunset time is your ceremony time?

When you google something like “Sunset time in Sydney”, you will know exactly when the sun will set on the day.

8:09pm is the sunset tonight.

So some people might instantly think….

“The ceremony goes for 20 mints, so we should start the ceremony at 19:45pm just before the sunset”.

The answer to that is… “Not quite right”.

When you say “Sunset” on those apps, it means that’s when the sun will set completely.
That’s when the sun will disappear!

Obviously, the sky gets darker much earlier from that time.

If you are having your wedding ceremony in non-suburb area, the sun will set earlier than whatever the time it says on your apps because of the buildings etc.

If your wedding day is overcast or held at the valley or Sydney CBD, the sun will set earlier even.

Plus, how would you know that your ceremony will start on time right on dot?
A lot of time, the ceremony doesn’t start on time based on my experience.

So please have a chat with me or your celebrant or venue about your ceremony time before your send out the invitations to your family and guests.

Oh and another thing…

Straight after your ceremony, usually we do group photos and family photos which will take another 20 - 30 mints. You don’t wanna do that in the dark.

So pleeeeease chat to me first!
