Hi there! I think that it’s pretty obvious for everyone but my background is Japanese, originally from Kyoto. If you have been to Kyoto, you've probably visited the Golden Temple (Kinkakuji) where used to be my playground back then.
I moved to Sydney in 1996, and now I call it home. I never imagined I'd still be living in Sydney and photographing weddings after 25+ years!
Well, I started my photography career in the mid-'90s, when we all used to photograph with film cameras. When I look back, I don’t know how I managed to photograph weddings without being able to see the little screen to review what I had just captured during the events. Dropping off the films at the photo lab and waiting for the photos to be ready for pickup was always a nerve-wracking moment. So I've transitioned through three generations of camera technology during my career, moving from film cameras to the first digital camera and finally to mirrorless cameras. I must say that I’m so glad that I got to experience film camera in my early photography career, because some people say that true mastery of photography comes from experiencing film cameras. Yay!
In the past few years, I've been honored to be continuously voted as one of the
"Top 5 Wedding Photographers in NSW." Honestly, it truly wowed and even brought a tear to my eye. When I found out about it, I was overjoyed and felt a sense of accomplishment and deep honour. But you know what? Receiving awards is always good bur receiving a heartfelt and witty letter (handwritten, no less!) from one of my lovely couples made me even happier and incredibly touched.
I've gotta say, I love my job and I'm really lucky to have turned my passion into my job. It's awesome to see people loving my work and adoring their wedding photos. Even after more than 25 years in wedding photography, weddings are still my top favourite moments to capture.
Today, I've got a small but amazing team of pros in photography and videography that I work with. They're not just rocking their skills; they're like family to me, and some of the kindest souls who are loved by everyone around, just as much as I love them.
They don’t work for me, they work with me and we work together. This is my approach to my team. We giggle a lot while we create beautiful work together!
“I only capture what truly brings me joy,
and that's weddings.
My photography is all about pouring in
my passion and love.
I hope you can feel that when you
browse through my photos.”
